Srinagar, July 1: The holy pilgrimage of Amarnath has been started; the first batch of 2,234 pilgrims Sunday left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp for the pilgrimage. Taking the responsibility of assisting pilgrims in all manners, CRPF has established a help desk viz. ‘MADADGAAR’ at platform No. 01 of Jammu Tawi Railway station. A similar help desk has been established at Jammu Airport. The objective of these help desks is to provide all kind of guidance/help to the pilgrims reaching Railway station and Airport from various parts of the country.

All kind of information pertaining to the yatra, ranging from stay arrangements, medical aides, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags, etc. will be provided to the pilgrims.

Pertinent to mention here that, as a special security measure, RFID tags are being fixed on yatri vehicles. The objective of RFID tags is to ensure the security of yatra vehicles.

For this, CRPF has established RFID tagging centers at various places in Jammu region i.e. Lakhanpur, Civil Airport Jammu, Jammu Tawi Railway Station, Jammu Bus Stand, Yatri Base Camp Bhagwati Nagar Jammu, Ban Toll Plaza, Roun village Udhampur and Nashri Tunnel.

While appealing the yatris and issuing necessary guidance related to security, CRPF is expecting co-operation from yatris. Pamphlets containing these guidelines are also being distributed by CRPF among yatris.

All these initiatives can draw one to say proudly that one side CRPF is tackling the challenges of terrorism and Naxalism, on the other side its efforts towards public service have always been appreciable.
