On 28 November 2019, when Shiv Sena's Uddhav Thackeray took oath as Chief Minister of Maharashtra after forming MahaVikas Aghadi (MVA) – a tri-party government led by the Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party and the Congress it had defeated BJP at its own game. Many have raised questions saying that this government will fall apart for 11 days but now this Maharashtra completes a whole year successfully.

No one believed when these three different ideologies came together to form a state government but such a "miracle" correctly said by Shiv Sena MP and Saamana 's Sanjay Raut interview with CM Thackeray happened. In the interview, CM Uddhav did not hesitate to answer the questions raised in the media. Leading from the front, he gave befitting replies when asked on Oppositions, Hindutva, Sushant Singh Rajput's Death to Love Jihad.

Scathing Attack on Opposition: Taking a jibe at the Opposition, he said, “I am quiet but that does not mean I am impotent. Attacking family is not our culture. This is also Hindutva culture. If you are targeting our families and children, then they should also remember that they too have families and children. They are not like clean rice. If we decide, we know how to cook their ‘khichdi’,” the CM said in an attack on the Opposition parties in the state.

Referring Prime Minister Narendra Modi in veiled manner, he added, “If you are misusing power, remember that power does not last forever. They too have faced cases in the past and Shiv Sena supremo [Bal Thackeray] had saved them.” Responding to a question about the Opposition’s claim that he does not do anything beyond telling people to wash their hands in his speeches, CM Uddhav Thackeray told Saamana, “I am only telling people to wash hands for now. If they continue with such attacks, haath dhoke pichhe padunga (I will come after them).”

Hindutva: Responding to the Opposition charge of him abandoning Hindutva, Thackeray said, "Hindutva is not pooja, banging temple bells or thalis. That does not cure corona. No one should do politics in the guise of Hindutva and teach us what Hindutva is. First saffron swarajya was established by Shivaji Maharaj in Maharashtra, so do not teach us," he said. "It is in our blood and veins. I believe in my father’s and grandfather’s concept of Hindutva. They said we do not want ‘temple bell banging’ Hindutva, we want a ‘terrorist banging Hindutva’ and my father proved it in 1992-93. When no one was coming forward to accept the demolition of Babri, he did it. Ram Mandir happened due to the court's decision. No political party should take credit for it," he added.

He also spoke about Bihar Assembly Elections.“What colour flag did you flutter in Bihar? Forget saffron. Can they raise tricolour in Jammu and Kashmir? They tied up with Nitish Kumar who spoke of ‘Sangh-mukt Bharat’. They love him. If this is their definition of pure, we do not do that,” the Maharashtra CM said in response to BJP’s remarks that Shiv Sena’s ‘Hindutva is not pure’," he said.

SSR Death: "What can I say, I sympathize with the tragedy. The people who are trying to gain something from someone’s death are not worthy of being in politics. A young man unfortunately lost his life. The Chief Minister also questioned the politics surrounding the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, saying that the Opposition had tried to take advantage of a young man's death. If you want to be called a man, the fight like one. Unfortunatel a man lost hin life and all ou think about is playig politics soon after? Are you trying to earn two minutes of fame over a dead man? Is this what our true nature is?"

Online education: In the interview with Saamana's Sanjay Raut, Uddhav Thackeray speaking about the field of education during Corona crisis in Maharashtra, "We are trying online education. We had decided to open schools for classes 9 to 12, but in many states schools had begun and we got reports of teachers and students getting infected. They had to shut it all down again. It is like playing with life. In my Dussehra speech I said that Rs 37 thousand crores is with the center. Around Rs 4-5 thousand crores have been released."

Kangana Ranaut: Speaking about Kangana Ranaut's allegations against the government and Mumbai, he said he does not want to waste time by speaking about her. "Please leave it, I don't want to comment on it. I don't have time to talk about it. When asked questions about Kangana, the CM simply said, "This is an insult to Mumbaikars and people want to do politics on it."

Love Jihad: When asked about ‘love jihad’ law being considered by the BJP-ruled states, the Maharashtra chief minister told Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana, “Rather than politics of ‘love jihad’, why shouldn’t the concept of Love Jihad be applicable in politics? They [BJP] are opposed to a Muslim boy marrying a Hindu girl. Then how did you [BJP] have an alliance with Mehbooba Mufti or Nitish Kumar or Chandrababu Naidu? Alliance with different political parties with different ideologies works for you, isn't this ‘love jihad’?”

Anvay Naik: Raut also asked about CM Uddhav Thackeray about the case pertaining to the death of architect Anvay Naik in which a prominent TV news editor is one of the accused. Thackeray said, “One Marathi businessman was created by outsiders. He committed suicide and wrote a note. You push the case under the carpet and for those who ask for reinvestigation, make ED run behind them. You want us to turn a blind eye?”
