New Delhi, March 27: Taking a more step to tackle the situations arising due to the spread of the deadly corona virus, the Centre today issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for maintaining supply of Essential goods. This is ahead in the third day of India lockdown when the Centre and all state governments are alert to resolve the setback in the country.

In a letter to all the Chief Secretaries of States, the Home Ministry said that all facilities in the supply chain of essential goods whether involved in manufacturing, wholesale or retail of such goods through local stores, large brick or e-commerce companies should be allowed to operate ensuring social distancing. The retail end of the supply chain shall operate only in essential goods as specified in the order.
The Ministry is also to provide an undertaking to this effect and also allow subsequent audit of the records with a view to ensure compliance. The SOP said the employees or persons engaged in the supply chain shall be allowed to commute on the basis of E-pass or any other certification. The state government will open round the clock control room to register complains and share these numbers widely. Home Ministry further approached Private security agencies to adopt humane approach.
Writing to the private security agency associations, MHA asked them to adopt a humane approach & protect its workers and staff members from lay-offs. These agencies have been urged to treat their workers on duty and paid accordingly during #21daysLockdown.
