Jaipur, Aug 14: Ending the month-long high political dram the Ashok Gehlot government in Rajasthan won the trust vote in the Assembly today after the truce between Congress rebel Sachin Pilot and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.

The motion of confidence was won by voice vote. The Rajasthan Assembly was later adjourned till August 21, said the Speaker C P Joshi.

Rajasthan Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal put the blame on the Centre saying that they were trying to unsettle the governments in Madhya Pradesh, Manipur and Goa by using money and power but their attempt in Rajasthan failed, he added.

Describing himself as a ‘strongest warrior’ of the Congress party, former Deputy Chief Minister and leader of the failed coup Sachin pilot lambasted at the Opposition BJP over its criticism of the recent political developments in the state. He said he would protect the party at all costs.

In the House of 200, Gehlot enjoyed the support of 107 MLAs while the BJP had 72 MLAs to its side.

Gehlot described his victory as ‘Victory of Truth’ and the victory of the people of Rajasthan and unity of ‘our Congress party’. ‘Satyamev Jayate’ he tweeted.

Gehlot chaired the meeting of the Congress MLAs on Thursday to decide the strategy for the session. The meeting was attended by the former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot, who could not succeed in his mission of ‘unseating Gehlot government’
