"Firecrackers are banned during Diwali but yesterday in parts of India there were firecrackers to celebrate Pakistan ‘s victory. Achha they must have been celebrating victory of cricket. Toh , what’s the harm in fireworks on Diwali. Hypocrisy kyun ,Saara gyaan tab hi yaad aata hai", Sehwag said in a tweet.

The social media users have come forward to laud for speaking on hypocrisy. A user said, "In one tweet Sehwag has expressed the sentiments of 100 million people & shown mirror to whole Political Class across party lines." Another user said, "They were celebrating over loss of India. Thank you Sehwag for speaking it out."

Sehwag’s tweet was aimed at calling out the hypocrisy of shaming Hindus for bursting firecrackers during Diwali and the ban on Diwali celebrations, while it was to burst fireworks on other kinds of ‘celebrations’.
