Where does that leave Muslim community in the future growth path of India? Should they continue to perceive BJP an anti-Muslim party or a nationalist party with the interest of all Indians at heart?

Dr Tariq Mansoor, former Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University has written an article in Indian Express on 01 Feb –“Muslims Should Relook at BJP”. Reasons given by him need our attention. It includes targeting of Pashmandas for social justice through various govt schemes, abolition of Triple Talaq resulting into direct benefit to them in Muslim homes where Muslim women are treated as commodity. It changed the relationship dynamics between a married Muslim women and her husband / in laws. Conduct of BJP governments in various states for implementation of welfare schemes where Muslims got bigger share vis a vis their number in population was also counted by him. Let us amplify.

India’s relationship with middle east nations especially Saudi Arabia does attract the attention of Indian Muslims because of presence of Islamic religious sites in Saudi Arabia. They do get surprised when they find that perceived Hindu Nationalist Party, the BJP is maintaining such a wonderfully symbiotic relationship with Islamic states. Indian Muslims do look at middle east Islamic nations specially the Saudi Arabia as their Islamic guardian though the reality on ground does not support that view at all.

Improved law and order situation in entire India, notably in states where BJP is in power have contributed to the prosperity of Muslim lower and middle class who are basically daily earners. Free rations have made the difference in the overall well-being of Muslim families specially with their large size. Policy of distribution of free rations as per the number of members have helped them in big way.

However, all said and done, it is a fact that Muslims by and large do not support Modi or BJP. Even % of Muslim women who feel so secure after passage of law against the existing procedure of Triple Talaq, there is hardly any significant support for Modi or BJP. However, BJP has been able to garner sufficient votes to capture power in Delhi and various states while ignoring Muslim votes but continue to provide improved governance to the community and society.

In the coming elections, as the forecast goes, BJP will be in power with Modi as PM, with or without Muslim votes.

Where does that leave Muslim community in the future growth path of India? Should they continue to perceive BJP an anti-Muslim party or a nationalist party with the interest of all Indians at heart? Have they benefitted with their association with Congress and regional parties who looked after Muslim Ashraf’s leadership while ignoring the interest of Pashmandas who constituted the 85% of Muslim population in India? Facts are startling at their face but ignorance and poor community leadership will not allow them to see the reality? While they look at the alternatives for regional parties and Congress, issue of Ayodhya temple and Pran- Pratistha of Bhagwan Ram is looking at them and imploring them to accept the reality on the ground. Does the reality limits itself to Ayodhya, Gyan Vapi, and Mathura Janam Bhoomi issue only which Muslim clergy will like them to believe or the perceived discrimination against them in terms of Bulldozers and police atrocities which is given hyperbolic publicity by the so-called well-wishers of Muslims – Congress, regional parties and so-called liberals. Fact is that political survival of these parties and leaders is dependent on en – bloc Muslims voting for them. More so when you see the role of Ateeq Ahmad and Mukhtar Ansari and the breed propagating violence for their political gains. Congress and regional parties are the primary gainers. It is against democratic principles. Same Muslim clergy mobilizes the Muslim masses against any perceived injustice to them, globally or nationally, be in terms of rallies against Israel, or USA or agitation against CAA, Supreme Court decision on various issues or bail to Sharjeel Imam or Khalid? Ignorant masses do not know the facts and are led successfully by clergy or leftists- Liberals. Shaheen Bagh agitation or Delhi riots were the manifestation of same disease. How long? Same people will not like amicable solution of Gyan Vapi and Lord Krishna Janmabhoomi because it will stop their hate factory.

It is a fact that Indian progress without inclusive growth will be different story . Lopsided growth is not a real growth because if all the sections of society do not move forward, those who are left behind will be draggers on all those who are keen to make progress. How long the Muslims continue to be draggers along with so many other sections of society who are moving ahead now. Fact is that Muslim clergy or the leftist liberals have no clue to what is happening in the resurgent India. If Muslims are left behind, they themselves will be blamed by future generations. They have the opportunity staring at them. The only requirement for them is to renew their social contract with majority community as mentioned by so many Muslim Scholars. It is time for them to voluntarily give up the claims on Gyan Vapi and Krishna – Janmabhoomi to earn the good will of majority community and move on the path of progress and development. They should realise that legally both are open and shut cases in favour of Hindus.

Modi government emphasis on inclusion of Muslims in all welfare schemes is to ensure that Muslims see the reasoning of their interest in growth story of India. Secondly, they should also see the vested interest of radicals and liberals in their isolation and segregation of them from main Indian core. These vested interests have been successful in doing so till now to retain them as vote bank and have propagated hate for Indian civilisation. BJP support for Indian Civilisation has become a good propaganda tool for them, to keep Muslims away from BJP. It will not help them as our civilisational roots and its manifestation have so much value in resurgent India. Pran Pratishtha of Bhagwan Ram in Ayodhya temple is just one manifestation of it.

What Muslim community should do? Status quo will not help. It is time to introspect and write a new social contract with Hindus. This India is different. Show of pseudo bravado, inciting of riots, dependence on any outside power through acts of terrorism and nonadherence to constitutional mechanism will not help as radical and criminal elements will be neutralised with heavy hand by state power. Neutralisation of Ateeq Ahmad is one such example.

Modi is the best bet for Muslim community in India. It is time to awaken up to new reality of resurgent India. Development model proposed by Modi is for everyone. Time for Muslim community to realise that all those politicians who treated them as vote bank must be shunned. It will help them to develop themselves and enjoy the fruits of democracy and growth. Time is running out for them. People like Dr Tariq Mansoor and so many others who are in minority as on now, need to be given due weightage before it is too late and community is totally marginalised. This is the sincere desire of India baiters and Muslims should refuse to become tool for them. Time for Vishwa Guru India.
