New Delhi, November 23: What happened behind the closed doors that such major revelation in Maharashtra Politics shook the very base of the Sena-NCP-Congress alliance? Putting an end to the nearly a month-old political impasse, Devendra Fadnavis today was sworn-in as the Chief Minister and Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Minister. Asserting to form a stable government and obey the mandate of the people, this gameplay by BJP will probably change the face of Maharashtra politics.

 

Revoking the President's Rule this morning at 5:47 am, the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister took place at 8 am. Congratulating Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar in forming the government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet posted, “Congratulations to Devendra Fadnavis ji and Ajit Pawar ji on taking oath as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minsiter of Maharashtra respectively. I am confident they will work diligently for the bright future of Maharashtra.”

BJP chief Amit Shah also congratulated Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. In a tweet in Hindi Mr Shah wrote, “Hearty congratulations to Shri Devendra Fadnavis ji on taking oath as Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Shri Ajit Pawar as Deputy Chief Minister of the state. I am confident that this government will be committed to the development and welfare of Maharashtra and will set new standards of progress in the state (sic)”

Union minister Nitin Gadkari congratulated Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar for taking oath as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra. In a tweet, Gadkari said under the leadership of Fadnavis and Pawar, the ‘chariot of Maharashtra’s government’ will move ahead rapidly.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar. In a tweet, Adityanath congratulated them and expressed confidence that "under the leadership of Sri Devendra Fadnavis ji and Sri Ajit Pawar ji, Maharashtra will be on the path of development."

BJP working president J P Nadda tweeted, “I congratulate Devendra Fadnavis ji and Ajit Pawar ji on taking oath as the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, respectively. I am sure that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP-NCP Government will take Maharashtra to newer heights.”

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tweeted congratulating Fadnavis and Pawar. She posted, “"Congratulations Devendra Fadnavis on taking oath as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. I am confident that with your commitment and dedication, you will continue to serve the people. Congratulations Ajit Pawar on taking oath as Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra," Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tweeted.

On Friday, at around 9.30 pm, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis submitted the letter of support of BJP MLAs to the Governor. Post-midnight, NCP leader submitted the support of 54 MLAs following which the Governor forwarded the two letters to the President.
